Gateway Plaza set to become the Bellarine’s newest culinary hot spot23 Feb 2017
LEOPOLD’S Gateway Plaza has announced its new dining precinct will offer an abundance of popular and delicious cuisines from around the world.
Centre manager Russell Yelland said the precinct, which would open seven days a week until late, would feature indoor and outdoor experiences offering casual dining options appealing to foodies, families and local visitors alike.
Among the new casual dining options, Gateway Plaza will offer on-trend food retailers including Schnitz, which is famous for Australia’s most delicious schnitzels and an extensive menu featuring salads, wraps and kids packs.
The best in American hospitality will be part of the spread at Bobo’s Diner, with a menu serving classic dishes from slow cooked ribs to southern style fried chicken, while Mediterranean cuisine with a blend of Middle Eastern flavours will be all the rage at Australia’s first Chic P.
Lovers of Asian inspired cuisine will be able to enjoy Hi Sushi with traditional sushi and traditional Japanese hot food being the main affair and dumpling fans will no longer have to travel with Hi Dumpling offering a range of dumplings.
“The local community will discover that Gateway Plaza will be the perfect place to bring family and friends together for a relaxing lunch, a coffee while shopping or to enjoy casual dinner in a relaxing atmosphere with entertainment every weekend,” Mr Yelland said.
Also set to tempt the taste buds are Geelong family favourite Alfie’s Café, specialty roasters Blax Coffee and Hangar Café Restaurant, which will offer an eclectic international menu.
These new casual options bolster Gateway Plaza’s dining offer, which includes Melaluka Bakery, Panache Cafe & Creperie, Fu Chinese, Gateway Fish and Chips and McDonald’s.
Set to become the largest everyday shopping destination on the Bellarine, Gateway Plaza is currently undergoing an $85 million redevelopment.
The buzz of onsite construction has been constant since November 2015 and it continues to be full steam ahead with the new centre on track to open in late March.
